Our First Love Relationship
When my grandsons were born, I was blessed to spend long, quiet hours with them as they adjusted to life outside the womb. I remember watching their eyes take in the world.
I remember the way they stared at their hands.
The way they watched the slow, floating movement of fingers in the air.
Their wide-eyed awe.
They weren’t trying to understand their bodies.
They were in wonder.
They weren’t judging.
They were receiving the miracle.
And I asked:
When did I stop looking at myself like that?
